SSAB Mission Statement: In support of Fan enhancement and in support of the Philadelphia Soul, we will search for ways to further support and develop the success of the franchise by making all of our fans feel that there is something worthwhile in their involvement with the organization.

Inception

In June of 2007 Soul Director of Sales Joe Krause announced a paradigm shift in the philosophy of arena football operations.

Joe conceived of a panel or board comprised of members of the Soul fan base that would help guide the team to new heights of success. Seeing the opportunity to do something none had done before, or through Joe's skill as a salesman, management approved the idea.

Beginning in July of 2007 fans were encouraged to submit an SSAB application with just eight, deceptively complex, questions. The organization received more than 165 inquiries before the August 31, 2007 deadline.

Finally after weeks of intense applicant review the members that would be the founders of the board were chosen. On Friday, 14 September 2007, fourteen individuals were notified of their selection to the 2008 Soul Strategic Advisory Board.

A new era for Philadelphia Soul fans had begun.
